More photos of Fountains Abbey ruins... In 1986 the parkland in which the abbey is situated and the abbey itself was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Fountains Abbey is owned by the National Trust along with Studley Royal Park, Fountains Hall, and St Mary's Church.
